đź’ś Career Well-being: Make LinkedIn Work While You Sleep!

Dear Thriving Introvert! In this newsletter, I'll cover:

  • Are Your LinkedIn Skills Helping—or Hurting—Your Job Search?
  • How to Stay Motivated (and Sane) During a Long Job Search
  • Give yourself permission to pause.

Are you still hoping for Skill endorsements on LinkedIn? Let me tell you one of the many gems I learned during my recent LinkedIn certification program.

But, before I do that, have you edited your skills section recently? No? It could be one of the reasons recruiters can't see you in their searches.

Now, you can add up to 100 skills on LinkedIn. But the most important takeaway is this:

You must add skills aligning with your industry and career goals. Forget adding MS Word, for example. Unless you see this skill listed in a few job descriptions for your desired job, add skills like leadership, customer service, generative AI, etc.

What about endorsements? They don't count during the recruiter search, so even if you added a skill without endorsements, that skill will still appear in searches. Feel free to remove skills with many endorsements as well. More on that in the article!

💡 Are Your LinkedIn Skills Helping—or Hurting—Your Job Search?

Well done if you’ve been quietly updating your LinkedIn profile, adding new roles, or tweaking your headline. However, one section holds more power than most people realize: your LinkedIn skills section.

This isn’t just filler. It’s your secret weapon for showing up in recruiter searches and aligning your profile with the roles you actually want.

Here’s the truth:

Your skills section acts like SEO for your career. Think of it as your LinkedIn algorithm booster. Get it right, and you rise to the top of the right searches. Get it wrong—or neglect it—and you may never even be seen.

But here’s the catch:

🔹 Most professionals either overstuff or undervalue this section

🔹 Endorsements don’t count in searches — keywords do

🔹 Listing random skills? That’s costing you visibility

If you want a profile that does the talking for you, it’s time to make your skills section do the work, so you don’t have to hustle so hard to be found.

This article walks you through the exact steps to refresh your skills section with intention and clarity.

đź’» How to Stay Motivated (and Sane) During a Long Job Search

In case you missed last week's article, I discussed How to Stay Motivated During a Long Job Search. An extended job search can feel like a full-time job, except without the paycheck or clear milestones. It’s easy to wonder, Why is this taking so long? Am I doing something wrong? This article has reasonable strategies to help you stay motivated, refine your approach, and improve your mental well-being.

đź’ś Give yourself permission to pause.

You don’t have to earn the right to slow down. You don’t have to justify taking a break.

💎 Resting isn’t a sign of weakness; it’s a strategy for longevity.

A thriving career and a fulfilling life require energy, and energy needs recovery.

The work will still be there, but you will show up stronger, clearer, and more intentional when you take care of yourself first.

Rest is not a reward—it’s a requirement.
